19 Apr 2008, Saturday - I'm staying with my mother in-law, and she's the big chef in the house. Therefore, I don't have to worry of what to cook for the family. Thanks, my queen. So, my husband sometimes will said that he never tried my cookings!!!! :( And challenge that I don't know how to cook. :( :
Today.... at last.....I have the chance to prove that he's wrong about the latter statement. Today is the first day I made dinner for my beloved husband and myself. What I cook? hah....good question. We went to buy the ingredients after we back from work at about 3pm.
1st station, buy prawns at Sim-Sim. We bought 4 big pcs of prawns....costed us RM18 (RM45 per kg).
2nd station, wet market at Bandar Kim Fung. Bought a bunch of vege which costed us only RM1...yes it's only RM1.00!!!!
3rd station, Tai Chung Supermarket. We bought a pack of fresh abalone mushrooms and a pack of japanese tohu.
It's truly a great feeling buying those things......
Once reach home, I rinsed the prawns and seasoned it with light soy sauce, and salt. Rinsed the vege...... mushrooms......
5.30pm..... cooking time!!!! Well....it's truly hot in the kitchen. Put the prawn with the japanese tohu to the steamer as steaming is the best way to keep the fresh taste of fresh prawns!!!
This followed by frying the abalone mushroom with garlic. mmm....it's been almost 3 yrs since i last cooked this dishes when i was at college.
Ever heard of frying vege with salted egg??? Well...this dish was suggested by my hubby. So, jsut giv it a try. Results???? Turn out not as what he expected it to be....as he's expecting it to be look like 'wat tan' (read it in cantonese).
It's almost 6pm!!!! Dinner time!!!! phew...........it's really hot cooking only that 3 simple dishes.
here's my husband comments on them :
1. Steamed Prawns with japanese tohu & egg : mmm.... a bit salty but the prawns really taste nice.
2. Fried mushroom with garlic : ok, this is good. but just too much of sauce. reason? it's because i put too much of water in frying this dish as i forgot that it'll produce it's on 'water' while cooking.
3. Fried vege with salted egg : mmm.. this seems like frying with egg and not salted egg. hahhaha
well....it's not easy to cook..... but i'm truly happy that we both really enjoy the session well.
what reward i got???? A BIG HUG AND A BIG KISS .....;)
